Visa Exemption for Tourism: What You Need to Know

Traveling to Thailand is popular among tourists from around the world. To facilitate travel, the Ministry of Interior has announced a visa exemption for holders of passports or equivalent travel documents from specified countries. The latest update was on May 9, 2024.

 

Qualifications for Foreign Nationals Entering the Kingdom

  • Passport or Equivalent Travel Document: Those wishing to enter Thailand must hold a passport or an equivalent travel document from a country that is exempt from visa requirements.
  • Length of Stay: Holders of passports or equivalent travel documents from visa-exempt countries can stay in the Kingdom for up to 30 days.
    Some countries are also eligible for Visa on Arrival, which allows travelers to obtain a visa upon arrival in Thailand, permitting a stay of up to 15 days. This makes travel even more convenient and quicker.
